Shiloh Temple, located just outside Minneapolis, MN, recently transformed its worship experience by installing a large Watchfire LED screen as a centerpiece in their sanctuary. Despite initial hesitation due to cost, the leadership team quickly recognized the immense value this advanced technology could bring to their services.

Bishop Richard D. Howell, Jr., head pastor at Shiloh Temple, explained, “The LED display isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about creating a more intimate and engaging experience for our congregation.”

The high-resolution digital display serves as a dynamic focal point in the sanctuary and has become an essential tool for communication. It enhances sermons with compelling visuals that bring messages to life. Beyond sermons, the display delivers timely announcements, ensuring that important information reaches everyone in a clear and impactful way. It also highlights upcoming events, encouraging participation and fostering a sense of community. And, the display shares welcome and thank you messages for newcomers and members, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. This multi-functional LED video display has transformed the worship experience, making it more engaging, informative, and inclusive for all who attend.

To fully leverage this new technology, Shiloh Temple uses the Watchfire control system and integration with their worship presentation software, which enables them to incorporate content that enhances both the sermons and the overall worship experience. Seda Williams, executive administrator at Shiloh Temple, manages the content to ensure seamless integration of visuals across the large Watchfire LED display and two smaller projector screens on both sides of the sanctuary.

The display is also configured to allow live streaming. The Temple’s camera system is fully integrated, providing the ability to switch between the large LED display and smaller screen content as needed. This ensures the team can create an experience that makes viewers feel as if they are part of the in-person congregation.

“We’re thrilled with the direction of this technology,” Seda noted. “The way we present information has dramatically improved. The energy is noticeably higher—especially when we use visuals that truly engage our members, making them feel like active participants in the service.”

Through this investment, Shiloh Temple has not only enhanced the quality of its services but also deepened the connection between the in-person congregation and remote viewers, creating a more dynamic and unified worship experience.

“The experience with Watchfire has been exceptional,” said Bishop Howell. “The display has a very professional appearance, and the clarity is stunning. I have no complaints.”
